We value our suppliers, each one carefully selected to meet our stringent quality criteria. Our main suppliers are:
Brixham Seafish – Situated just 50 metres from the fish auctions at New Fish Quay, Brixham Seafish supply quality fresh fish that make all the difference in dishes such as grilled Torbay sole and pan-fried fillets of Brixham John Dory.
Brixham Sea Farms – Restaurants all over the country clamour for the meaty mussels grown at Brixham Sea Farms, so we are very lucky to have them on our doorstep. Mussels from Brixham Sea Farms are grown in open water, and are harvested at just the right time – perfect with a cool glass of Prosecco.
Enotria – The UK’s leading specialist wine wholesaler, Enotria are behind our generous wine menu. Our house wines hail from Sicily, but we offer a wide selection of brands from France, Spain, Chile, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and even England.
Roots – At Roots we pride ourselves on being a family run wholesale greengrocers, offering the highest quality produce, locally sourced at a reasonable and competitive price.
Hunts Cider (Broadleigh Farm) – Hunts cider have been naturally hand-pressing their own apples for cider for over two centuries from their peaceful Yalberton orchards on the outskirts of Paignton.
Luscombes of Torbay Butchers – Bob has been delivering top quality local meats to us from day one, the quality of local produce and the standard of preparation we receive daily, is the exact same qualities we drive towards in the style and execution of the food we serve in our restaurant this makes working together a perfect combination.
KEEPING INGREDIENTS LOCAL
Bringing communities together by buying local is central to everything we do at On the Rocks. A glance through our menu will show how seriously we take this commitment, with much of our fresh meat and fish sourced from Brixham.
Our Aberdeen Angus beef originally comes from locally reared cows at Waddeton Barton Farm, home to Richard and Jean Tully, before being prepared by Savills butchers in Galmpton. And with premium quality fresh fish and shellfish on our doorstep, supplied by Nigel at Brixham Seafish and Brixham Sea Farms, there is no reason to look elsewhere.
Our fruit and vegetables are supplied by Torquay-based Frank H Mann who collect produce from a choice of 60 local farms, while even our cider travels the short distance from Broadleigh Farm in Yalberton.
We also prepare as much as possible in-house, making all of our own stocks and sauces.
OTR Local Suppliers
As we are locals of Torbay, we feel very strongly about who we choose to supply produce to our restaurant, and where possible we try to use as many top quality local suppliers as we can. This was always a key part of our plan when we decided to open On The Rocks, and we surely will stick by this in the future. Based just across the bay on Brixhams new fish quay, our long term friends Nigel Ward & Ian Perkes, provide us with premium quality fish on a daily basis, with 80 years experience between them there gauge for purchasing and preparing the finest fish Brixham has to offer is second to none. Brixham Sea fish as a company is going from strength to strength and we are proud to have them as our sole fish supplier.
Gribbles of Occombe Farm Butcher
Gribbles Butchers is based locally out of Occombe Farm, they provide us with the freshest Local Beef for our Beef Burger. They offer great traceability, which lets us know exactly what and where all our cattle is and where it is from.
Brixham Sea Farms
Through the window across the bay you can see Elberry Cove, this is where Brixham Seafarms have the UK’s first open sea water mussel farm. Producing what we believe to be the greatest mussels ever tasted. There is something special about serving fresh shellfish directly across the bay from where they have been so carefully reared, so much so we hold a Mussel & Prosecco evening every Wednesday from 6pm to showcase the beautiful mussels we get supplied with daily.
At Roots Greengrocer we pride ourselves on being a family run wholesale greengrocer, offering the highest quality produce, locally sourced at a reasonable and competative price. Supplying restaurants, hotels, bars and pubs throughout Torbay for the past 25 years we have grown a wealth of knowledge in our field and can offer help and advice regarding any matter.

Forest produce are a fine supplier based in Honiton, they specialise in finding and distributing specialist ingredients direct to chefs. They source premium products from afar as well of stocking many of the west countries finest produce. The unbelievable produce on offer and professionalism within the company is the reasons forest produce has become our main supplier for the finer things in life.
